Inevitably, if you use CRM you are going to have this exact question.
Fortunately, the answer is very simple as the version number is only in one of a few places. The location really just depends on how old your CRM instance is. We will cover both just in case you are running an older or legacy version of CRM.
So let’s start with how to check which version of CRM that you are running on a newer release of CRM.
CRM 2013-Current Version Lookup
For all newer releases of Microsoft Dynamics CRM you need to locate the settings cog at the top right-hand side of the screen.
When you click the settings option you will be provided with the sub-menu. Now click on the About option to bring up the CRM version screen.
From here you can see what version of CRM you are running, and will be provided the exact major and minor release versions as well.
CRM 4 – Dynamics CRM 2011 Version Look Up
One way that you can tell if you are running an older release of CRM is if you see left navigation like the image below. This is because all newer releases of Microsoft CRM will have the menu options driven from the top of the screen.
For legacy and older releases of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, you can find which version that you are running from the top left-hand side of the screen.
If you navigate to File -> Help -> About Microsoft Dynamics CRM you can click on that option to load the CRM version number.
The about screen shows the exact version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM you are running as well as the minor release information so you can look up the specific release patch you are running as well.
